Softspikes® was once again on top on the PGA Tour this weekend, with the winner of the ZOZO Championship capturing a second PGA Tour victory, wearing the No.1 spike on Tour, Tour Flex Pro in his FootJoy Premiere Series shoes.
A birdie on the 72nd hole competed a final round 67 and an emotional one-shot victory for the 30-year-old professional from Colombia. In doing so, he becomes the 35th PGA Tour winner to do so wearing spikes in the past 38 events. Additionally, 30 of the top 40 finishers at the ZOZO Championship chose to compete in replaceable spikes over a spikeless alternative.
On the DP World Tour and PGA Tour Champions, both winners secured their titles wearing Pulsar spikes in their FootJoy shoes.
“The popularity of Tour Flex Pro amongst the best players in the game clearly demonstrates the benefits that wearing replaceable spikes delivers for all golfers and we congratulate the winner of the ZOZO Championship on his victory in Japan,” commented Joe Henderson, President, Softspikes.
Tour players change grips and traction regularly based on course conditions, but amateur golfers rarely think about the impact wearing spikes has on consistency and distance. To achieve optimal performance benefits, golfers should be switching up their spikes every 15 rounds.
