Park claims Women’s Open title at Turnberry

Inbee Park has won her seventh major title, fighting off compatriot Jin-Young Ko to win the British Women’s Open Championship for the first time at Turnberry. Park’s seven under 65, which included seven birdies and an eagle, saw her finish three ahead of Ko.

Park plays with XXIO clubs, Cleveland wedges and the Srixon Z Star ball. The win further enhances Srixon’s recent announcement of becoming an Official Partner of the Ladies European Tour.

This was the fourth tour title of the year for world number one Park, who is now only three majors off Annika Sorenstam’s modern-day record of ten, joining an elite group to complete a career Grand Slam in the women’s game.

Park reflected on her win, saying “It feels great to finally hold the British Open trophy. I gave it a few cracks and it’s just been so hard. This is the birthplace of golf. Scotland is where golf started and this feels like real golf. This is definitely the golfer’s most wanted trophy. This is the greatest day of my life for sure.” More at: www.srixon.co.uk
