    Abacus

Abacus Sportswear spring/summer 2016 collection features ‘Extreme’, the company’s most advanced, high performance range to date. The collection incorporates state-of-the-art, technical materials such as Drycool Zero, Thermocool and StretchLite60K, all of which create the most lightweight, breathable and stretchable garments the company says it has ever produced.

Abacus-Sportswear’s-new-Pitch-Extreme-StretchLiteThe technical fabrics have been developed by Abacus and thoroughly tested by former European number-one and Abacus brand ambassador Robert Karlsson, to provide golfers of all levels with enhanced ability to perform at their highest level when on the course.

For the first time, Abacus Sportswear’s spring/summer 2016 garments are divided into focussed sub-collections – Extreme, Active, Casual and Classics, – which are designed to accurately address a range of golf playing styles, while ensuring freedom of movement when on the course.

New products within the collection include Abacus Sportswear’s new Pitch Extreme StretchLite jacket (pictured), which has a 20,000 Water Pillar and 60,000 Moisture Vapour Pillar rating, making it the lightest, most breathable waterproof the company has produced. The garment features a membrane technology that enables it to be worn close to the skin without a separate lining. This ensures it is extra light, thin and easy to wear, while its capacity to stretch to almost twice its original size allows for complete freedom of movement on the course.

In addition, the Albatross Polo is another new garment within the S/S 16 collection and incorporates Abacus Sportswear’s Drycool Zero technical material. Designed to react with sweat to lower the temperature of the material, the long-lasting cooling technology accelerates the wicking process with advanced evaporation, keeping the wearer cool and dry.

Chris Mattsson, head designer at Abacus Sportswear said, “The spring/summer 2016 collection is all about pushing the boundaries of technical performance. We have dressed the previous four European Solheim Cup teams and some of the leading professionals within the game. We have drawn on this experience to create our most technically advanced collection, designed for golfers of all abilities, helping them to play their best while on the course.” More at: www.abacussportswear.com

    Oscar Jacobson

Oscar Jacobson’s spring/summer 2016 golf collection will offer a blend of proven performers and stylish newcomers, mixing performance-enhancing fabrics with eye-catching fashion statements. The fashion influences in its latest golf wear make it more versatile than ever, looking equally at home on the course or around town.

Oscar-Jacobson-HartmanThe collection is available in two colour themes: Resort for a more classic look majoring on blues, yellows and whites; and Club, a reflection of the wider fashion industry’s influences, mixing white with added contrast colours to create a sophisticated, yet sporty look. Black, red and white have been at the heart of Oscar Jacobson’s ranges for over 100 years, almost becoming a signature colour theme. Many pieces in the latest collection will be available in various combinations of this striking marriage of colours.

The Hartmann jacket (pictured), white with black and red accents/trims is one of three colour options in a two-layer waterproof top designed for ultimate performance thanks to four-way stretch woven fabrics, fully taped seams and articulated sleeves for an improved fit. Clemens comes into the range as the new ultralight padded anorak for those chilly days when a little extra warmth is required. Clemens features Primaloft  padding material, which allows it to deliver extra warmth without adding unwanted bulk, plus a rib-stop outer surface for a fittingly technical look. It is again available in three colour options, with two based around the signature black/red/white theme.

Summer golf doesn’t always mean shirtsleeve golf, so newcomers Bobby and Bogart are on hand for those days when an extra layer is required. Bobby is a classic, extrafine, single-colour cotton V-neck sweater in a wide colour palette, from age-old favourites like navy, black, blue and pale blue to vibrant red, yellow and green. Bogart is the new extrafine cotton half-zip sweater, available in the same seven colours. Brison is then an extrafine cotton V-neck sweater with a striking, intarsia design down the left chest and side that gives it a fashionably retro, yet contemporarily stylish look for golfers after something a step beyond the classic single-colour sweater.

A comprehensive performance polo shirt line-up sees favourites like Alfie, Collin and Anton joined by newcomers such as Lyndon, Jules and Kay, offering various patterned or mixed-colour fashion designs in a wide variety of colours. All three come under the OJ Sport Weather Protection System (WPS) layering concept.

OJ’s Leisure Chinos and Tech Trousers will now be available in a wider selection of colours to suit both conservative and more adventurous tastes. The cotton-rich Leisure Chinos have just a hint of elastane for improved fit and comfort, with yellow, royal blue and white options for the bolder golfer; the polyester Tech Trouser offers navy, black and grey at the classic end of its colour spectrum, with royal blue, yellow, red, green and white at the more striking end. More at: www.sport.oscarjacobson.com

    Röhnisch

The Swedish women’s apparel brandis adding sportier material and more featured details in its spring/summer 2016 golf collection. The clothes are designed to fit both on the golf course as in other everyday activities.

Röhnisch-3The company says the vibrant colour palette is inspired by bright Swedish summer meadows, with colours such as sunshine, blossom and cloud perfect for the golf course.

New functional and soft jackets with feminine design in seasonal colours, engraved with new print Clover will protect from wind and rain. Mizuno

Mizuno’s spring/summer 2016 apparel collection is designed around a triple layering concept in which the inner layer relies on the brand’s Drylite technology to maintain the body’s microclimate, the mid layer has added thermal insulation properties thanks to Warmalite, and the outer layer is then engineered for protection from the elements.

The inner layer comprises a range of eight polo shirts in varying styles, plus both trousers and shorts in either plain colours or fineline check styles. All the polo shirts incorporate Mizuno’s Drylite technology, in either polyester or mercerised cotton fabrics, to help wick moisture away from the body, thereby maintaining a comfortable and dry ‘microclimate’ to enhance performance.

MizunoAmong the ultra-soft, polyester performance shirts are: the Origami polo (RRP £60) offering contrasting colour panels on the sleeves and back in methyl blue/total eclipse, magenta haze and white/castlerock; the X-Tint Argyle polo (£60) sporting a striking sublimated Argyle design across the chest in total eclipse/white, magenta haze/optic white and castlerock/white; and the classic Plain polo (RRP £60), woven from a mini-piquet fabric in white, pearl blue, magenta haze and methyl blue with modern contrast piping.

The piquet Stripe polo (RRP £70) is tailored from double-mercerised cotton, and features a single contrasting stripe across the chest plus a classic button-down collar. It will be available in total eclipse, white and magenta haze.

The stylish Warmalite quarter zip top (pictured, RRP £100) takes care of things on the mid layer thermal insulation front – a polyester flat-knit garment offering a contemporary look with contrast sleeves, and a subtle origami print on the back of the neck. The Warmalite quarter zip story is one of both function and style thanks to a heat-capturing layer that dramatically enhances the garment’s thermal insulation properties by recycling body heat while still allowing the body to breathe. It will be available in a choice of colours.

The outer layer range in Mizuno’s spring/summer 2016 collection will consist of a windproof vest, a windproof jacket and a comprehensive selection of accessories. This new apparel collection offers a perfect blend of style and performance, with the colour palette serving up some striking combinations in eye-catching blues, greens and pinks. More at: www.golf.mizunoeurope.com
